Women who accept their bodies, flaws and all, are more likely to eat healthily or intuitively, new research shows. This suggests that women's typical reasons for dieting -- dissatisfaction with their bodies -- may backfire.

Weight loss can worsen cellulite

While losing weight may lessen the appearance of cellulite for some women, for others, it may actually worsen the condition, the results of a new study indicate. Cellulite refers to the appearance of 'dimpling' on the thighs, buttocks and hips. It is sometimes described as 'orange peel' skin. Around 85% of women are affected. According to the researchers, while the condition is not specific to overweight people, excess weight may worsen the condition.

Weight loss not always a cellulite answer

Most women are affected by cellulite, but while weight loss may help some, it may worsen the condition for others, says a U.S. study. "Approximately 85 percent of women are affected by cellulite," said study co-author Dr. John Kitzmiller. "Cellulite is not specific to overweight people, but excess weight may worsen the condition. We found that weight loss in overweight patients improved the appearance of cellulite, but for a few, it actually worsened the condition."

Fidgeting May Be Key To Weight Loss

Do you fidget? The answer may determine whether you're fat or thin, a rat study suggests. Lean rats — but not fat rats — are sensitive to a brain signal that makes them restless, find Catherine M. Kotz, Ph.D, and colleagues at the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota Obesity Center.

Everyone's mom said, "eat your vegetables." But in a fast-paced life, getting a recommended daily dose is difficult because preparing a veggie meal can take more than the few minutes many people want to spend, especially at lunch.
